Price: £ from £ 597

Sleeps: 6

Booking information for Silver Birches

A superb and spacious three storey, end terrace mews house forming part of an attractive crescent of properties that overlook a well-maintained open green to the front.

Built in 2018, Silver Birches is located on the King's Meadow development, an exclusive collection of traditionally styled properties on the outskirts of the beautiful Georgian town of Holt. The house benefits from a peaceful, relaxing environment, an enclosed private landscaped garden, and parking for two cars. Fitted out and equipped to a very high standard, this lovely property is comfortably furnished throughout. There are three bedrooms over two floors (super-king, king and twin/super-king) and three bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. This is an ideal house for couples and friends looking to enjoy time away together but it's also a family friendly property with travel cot, high chair and stair gate all available.

On the ground floor the sitting room has a large L-shaped sofa to sink into while you watch your favourites on a Smart television and DVD player. The adjoining south facing dining kitchen has french doors leading out to a pretty courtyard garden - just the place to spend a peaceful afternoon, or enjoy al fresco dining in the summer. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need if you prefer 'eating in' but, as you are rather spoilt for choice with so many fabulous places to eat, both in Holt and the nearby villages, you might be tempted to leave the cooking to someone else! Naturally the house has full central heating, double glazing and great insulation so you will always be cosy whatever the time of year.

Please Note: King's Meadow is still under development, but the properties all around Silver Birches are completed and new building works and site traffic are well away from the house and only visible in the distance. Ongoing building work on the site should not have any impact upon your stay at Silver Birches. However, an appropriate discount has already been applied to the pricing whilst the building work continues.

Price: £ from £ 386

Sleeps: 2

Booking information for Whoa-Stop

Located in King Edward VIII Wood, a mile from the nearest road, this romantic shepherd’s hut is both tranquil and away from it all, yet comes with a host of luxuries. An all year round holiday retreat in the most beautiful and unique location.

If you’re seeking somewhere to stay with a touch of luxury and solitude, then Whoa Stop! offers both in abundance. This beautiful shepherd’s hut offers plenty of privacy along with indoor and outdoor bathing and cooking facilities. Where else can you bathe outside under the stars, in a heated double ended bath we ask?

Located just outside the village of Thompson, deep in Thetford Forest Whoa Stop! sits on the outskirts of the forest canopy of beech and elm, in the company of two other similarly appointed huts, yet offers plenty of privacy. This unique retreat is a must if you want to get back to nature, yet crave your home comforts too.

The luxurious, double ended bath sits outside on the large veranda, so you can lie back, relax and enjoy the stars with your favourite bubbles whilst watching the wildlife around you. Step out of the bath, pull up a comfy chair and dry off in front of the gas fire pit, before cooking breakfast or supper in the well-appointed outdoor kitchen. Finish off the evening with a Twilight Hamper full of tempting delights such as marshmallows, popcorn, chocolate sauce and hot chocolate, which can be ordered from the owners on arrival, although you get a starter welcome pack on arrival along with toiletries.

Inside this gorgeous hut, you’ll also find a fabulous wood burning stove and a very comfortable king-size bed, with cushions and soft throws, all decorated in hues of French grey and purple. And with a built-in boom box and a 20 inch television to enjoy (if maybe the weather isn’t so good) you will feel relaxed and cosy whatever time of year you choose to stay.

Watch the sun rise over the arable fields from your veranda where you might spot the red deer out grazing in the early morning. With the adjacent land owned by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, there is plenty more opportunity of seeing bird and wildlife so don’t forget to bring your binoculars.

If you like a walk in the morning, then the sunrise is beautiful over Thompson's Lake which is about a mile from your hut and is located just off the Peddar’s Way. Set within 32 acres, it literally brims with wildlife. You can walk your dog around here too, providing they are kept on a lead.

For the ultimate in luxury, why not take advantage of the unique outdoor spa area? Watch the wildlife while luxuriating in the hot tub or ease aching muscles in the sauna. Use of the spa is £12.50 per person per stay and can be added to your booking and includes towels and robes.

If you can bear to tear yourself away from your luxury hut, then there is a good pub in the village of Thompson which is in walking distance, where you can enjoy local ales and good food.

Undoubtedly you will fall in love with this place … so if you are looking for something different, give it a try.

Additional Information
One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge).
