Price: £ from £ 484

Sleeps: 2

Booking information for The Little Potting Shed

Bijou, rustic and utterly romantic, this seriously gorgeous retreat, formerly the gardener’s potting shed, is tucked into the walled garden on the beautiful Fring Estate just a few miles from Brancaster beach.

Accessed via a golf buggy and with an outside bath tub to boot, you will feel the stresses of everyday life slip away when you choose to stay at this little Norfolk hideaway.

This seriously charming retreat defies rustic charm. The owner has taken great care to ensure its former life as a potting shed has been retained, yet has included mod cons too which work cleverly together to deliver country living in a relaxed style.

Perfect for couples or single travellers wanting to escape from the outside world, guests are afforded ample peace and quiet and enjoy a sense of isolation, yet there is access to the parkland and woodland that surround the estate. You can also book bikes and make use of the tennis court and outdoor heating swimming pool (available from 1st May -30th September). And of course, you are only 10 minutes’ drive from the nearest pub and shop and Brancaster beach.

The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is charming with vaulted ceiling and unpainted walls which retain the authenticity of the building and create a striking contrast. The kitchen is small but perfectly formed and comes with Belfast sink with brass taps along with most of the appliances you would expect (but not everything and that is part of its charm!)

What you won’t expect though is the outside bath tub, which you can fill with hot water and bubbles and enjoy a glass of champagne as you watch the sun go down on another day. There is a swimming pool and tennis court available for guest use from 1st May to 30th September 10am - 4pm. .

Inside the sleeping space is divine with vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and velux window which makes the room beautifully bright during the day and at night offers a glimpse of the blanket of stars above. After a deep, restorative nights' sleep in the double bed, treat yourself to breakfast in bed and open the door to the front terrace to let the sunshine in. The wet room next door has a surprisingly spacious walk-in shower with a large rose.

The finishing touches are charming, we just love the old wooden boards, cosy sofa positioned to snuggle up on a cooler nights and little pots of herbs. In addition, there's a small television with Apple TV and there's WIFI if you need to get back in touch with the outside world.. The whole idea of this little retreat though is to get away from the influences of every day life hence, no terrestrial TV.

Outside you have a private fenced terrace to the front with table and two chairs which overlooks the cottages in the walled garden and to the rear, a private open fenced terrace and lawned garden with garden furniture offering extensive views over the Fring Estate and the surrounding rural landscape.
