Superbly set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings this delightful log cabin offers stylish and tasteful holiday accommodation. Dunkeld Cathedral is steeped in history and very picturesque, sitting on the banks of the River Tay. In neighbouring Birnam you will find the Birnam Oak, thought to be 1,000 years old; the Oak now stands with its lower branches resting wearily on crutches. The Beatrix Potter Garden tells the story of the author and her life in the area. The Loch of the Lowes, a Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve, is only a 2 min drive from Golden Pond Log Cabin. From the hide at the visitor centre you can watch a breeding pair of Osprey, who take up residence for most of the summer, as well as otters , red squirrels, pine martins and an abundance of wildlife. Golfers are spoilt for choice; Dunkeld has its own 18 hole course and there are courses in Aberfeldy, Crieff, Blairgowrie and Pitlochry, and of course St Andrews and Gleneagles all within an hour's drive. For the outdoor enthusiast there are a great number of walks locally including the well known Hermitage where you can visit Ossian's Cave, named after a hermit, and Ossian's Hall, a folly from which you can admire the waterfall below.
