As you turn off the main road and begin your "off the beaten track" path to your cosy accommodation, you'll feel like you've just stepped off the treadmill of your busy life; and if you arrive after dark, there's nothing like the welcome of a lighthouse beam to greet you!

Wellhayes Barn , Harcombe Bottom
Click here for more about Wellhayes Barn

Price: £ from £ 497.00

Sleeps: 4

Booking information for Wellhayes Barn

Wellhayes Barn is close to the lake which does so much to define this property and enhance the wildlife that surrounds it. During the nesting season, the call of wild duck, along with the splashes they make when coming into land on the water, is a regular reminder of how close to nature you really are.

A beautifully converted hay barn with large terrace and private suntrap adjacent to a freshwater lake and surrounded by woodland. Wellhayes Barn has been converted to an exceptionally high standard into a two bedroom property with a contemporary interior which references the buildings' previous function.
This tranquil haven is just a few minutes’ drive from Lyme Regis and Bridport yet is surrounded by nature: wild duck nest on the pond whilst heron and cormorant try their luck with the fish. Deer can occasionally be seen in the woods from the first floor window, whilst foxes and badgers, though a little more timid, are often encountered on walks. Much of the timber used in the conversion has been ‘upcycled’ from the original building. The building is entered via a heavy ledged and braced front door made from locally sourced timber which opens to reveal the open plan kitchen, dining and living space, complete with an oil fired Aga and views over the lake to the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty beyond. The large master bedroom has its own wood burner and en-suite bathroom with free standing bath.
