	Brookside is a fine traditional Grade ll listed stone farmhouse, sitting on the edge of New Radnor village. Along its 177 miles, it passes through eight different counties and crosses the border between England and Wales over 20 times. The Trail explores the the border region (known as the tranquil Marches) and passes through the Brecon Beacons National Park on the spectacular Hatterall Ridge. It also links three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the Wye Valley, the Shropshire Hills and the Clwydian Hills. The coast at Cardigan Bay is only 45 minutes by car, a spectacular journey through glorious scenery across the Plynlimon mountains to the university town and lively seaside resort of Aberystwyth with its cliff railways and various cultural and entertainment diversions, or further north along the Dovey estuary to Aberdovey. Here, the coast with its sandy beach offers opportunities for canoeing, windsurfing and swimming, and beautiful walks can be enjoyed amid the nearby Plas Penhelig Gardens.
