Blockley is a delightful golden stone village, situated in the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds between Moreton-in-Marsh with direct rail links to London Paddington. The village has a unique collection of buildings reflecting its past glory of mills and silk production. It is a peaceful, charming village with a friendly community, centred round the café and well stocked shop.

There are an abundance of walks over the beautiful countryside. There are two pubs within walking distance (including the Great Western Arms), interesting shops and a variety of restaurants in the nearby villages and towns. A highly recommended pub is The Plough in Stretton-on-Fosse, a 10 minute drive.

The boundaries of the garden and woodland abut Woodchester Park, owned by the National Trust, and from the house it is possible to walk for miles without crossing a road, hearing a car or seeing more than a handful of people. Wildlife abounds around the five ornamental lakes which run through the Park. The Cotswold Way passes nearby.

The house itself forms the south-west wing of Woodchester Park House, a Grade II listed building. It dates back to the 1860's and retains many original features. Bellhouse's garden is both attractive and private. A courtyard and a further patio area provide sun traps for outdoor sitting and eating. A large lawn surrounded by mature shrubs and trees is perfect for children's games. The garden is also enjoyed by foxes and badgers, the badgers are often spotted at dusk when they come for peanuts!

Buckland Wood Barn is a detached Cotswold stone barn, situated at the end of a quarter-mile long hard-surface drive. The Barn is in the grounds of the 16th century gamekeeper's cottage which has some 50 acres including a private wood and stream. It has a lovely, secluded garden where you can sit out and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The barn is situated on a hillside a mile above Broadway, the setting has breath-taking views across the valley (designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) up to Broadway Tower. This picturesque town is often referred to as the “show village of England” due to its beautiful honey coloured limestone buildings some of which date back to the 16th century. Visit the excellent butchers or the Broadway Deli to stock up on all the lovely, local produce that is beautifully presented inside and outside of the shop.

Right from your front door there are some fantastic walks, including the 100 mile Cotswold Way running all the way from Chipping Campden to Bath. Or for something different, wander through the lavender field at Snowshill, where they harvest 35 varieties of lavender. You can also admire Snowshill Manor or take a stroll down to the pub which is only a mile away.
