Belfast- take an Open top Bus Tour of the city to see famous and infamous places including the dock where Titanic was built. There are several Boat Trips around the Harbour and on the Lagan River.
Visit the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum for a taste of the past and a look at how we lived and worked. There are many cottages, houses and other old properties which were removed from their original location and rebuilt exactly as they were. This takes a full day to go from house to house and also to see all the exhibits in the Transport Museum.
Londonderry/Derry. For a more relaxing day out, park the car at Ballymena railway station and take the train to Londonderry. Michael Palin has said of the journey from Castlerock to Derry that this is “one of the railway journeys of the world”. The track skirts the sea with sea cliff views and many waders and seabirds who are unperturbed by the train. A courtesy bus is available to take you to the City Centre. Derry is a walled city with many interesting and historical sights including some from our recent stormy past.
Broughshane village near Ballymena is famous for its floral displays. It has won every award in the UK and Ireland in recent years. There is a good pub –The Thatch- with excellent food
